The Don's Seafood story began with a simple idea – a vision for a place to savor great meals and cocktails. It was 1934, just one year after Prohibition had been lifted across the United States, when founder Don Landry Sr. recognized an incredible opportunity. At just 24 years old, he borrowed $400 from an uncle to open a bar and restaurant in downtown Lafayette, Louisiana, with the idea of a humble menu of fresh, local seafood and, of course, alcoholic beverages.
