Gumbos and Salads
Since Don’s Seafood first opened its doors in 1934, our savory selection of Cajun gumbos and unique salads has set us apart from other seafood and gumbo restaurants. That’s because we believe in the power of tradition, as the recipes we use today are rooted in the cuisine our founder introduced to Louisiana over 80 years ago. Whether you’re looking for a lighter lunch or a tasty way to start a meal, Don's Seafood's gumbos and salads are the perfect choice.
Our Signature Gumbos
Our famous gumbos bring Cajun traditions to life. Suitable for an entire meal, appetizer or side dish, our classic Seafood Gumbo features an Acadian dark roux with an abundance of shrimp and crabmeat. For a heartier dish, try our Chicken and Andouille Gumbo, a savory combination of boneless chicken and smoked andouille sausage. If you’re catering a special event, we have good news – our gumbos are also available by the gallon and served with rice and bread.
These signature gumbos also make the perfect complement to any entrée. Our Shrimp Dinner, which includes stuffed, fried, Jacked Up™, broiled, étouffée and au gratin shrimp, wouldn’t be complete without a cup of shrimp gumbo. The same goes for our Crab Dinner, in which you’ll enjoy a cup of crab gumbo alongside crab au gratin, Jacked Up™ lump crabmeat, crab spinach dip, fried stuffed crab and fried crab fingers.
Our lighter menu options don’t lack flavor or character, making them perfect for lunch and dinner alike. Served over hearty garden greens, golden fried crawfish tails highlight local flavors and make our Fried Crawfish Salad a favorite for many guests. For salad-lovers on gluten-free diets, we offer two options: Seafood Salad featuring fresh Gulf shrimp, lump crabmeat and crawfish over a bed of cool and crisp garden greens and Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad.
